If you’ve ever typed “brewery near me” into Google hoping to find that perfect mix of great food, cold beer, and good company — we get it. We’ve been there, too. At Skagit River Brewery, right here in downtown Mount Vernon, we’ve spent years crafting that exact experience: a place where you can sit down for a hearty meal, enjoy a hand-crafted pint, and feel like you belong the moment you walk in.

But whether you’re local to Skagit County or just visiting for the Tulip Festival, choosing the right brewery restaurant makes all the difference. Here are a few insider tips to help you pick a spot that’s truly worth your time (and why we think we check all the right boxes).

I've never been disappointed by the beers here. Today was an especially good visit. Being Easter, I expected it to be busy, and it was. But the atmosphere was relaxed and my fellow diners and drinkers were all having a good time. I owe it to the great beers, delicious food, and outstanding service. I had the brisket French-dip sandwich with a house salad. The sandwich was delicious and the salad ingredients fresh and savory with the house blue cheese dressing. My server, Ashley, was pleasant and attentive. She kept my coffee hot and made great recommendations. She. recommended the chocolate cake for dessert, and I'm happy she did. It was delicious!

Check out our reviews

We’re proud of our 4.1-star rating and — more importantly — of the stories that come with those stars. When you read reviews (ours or anyone else’s), look for what actually matters:

  • Mentions of consistent food and service

  • Notes about atmosphere, comfort, and staff friendliness

  • Real experiences from people who sound like you — families, locals, travelers

At Skagit River Brewery, people often talk about our friendly team, great portions, and laid-back vibe. That’s exactly what we aim for: a place where you can grab a pizza after work, meet friends for a game, or bring your family on the weekend and know it’ll feel the same every time.

Our conenient parking & location

Nothing ruins a night faster than hunting for parking or walking half a mile in the rain. When you’re choosing a brewery near you, make sure it’s easy to get to and easy to stay awhile.

We’re located right off I-5 in downtown Mount Vernon, just minutes from the Skagit Valley tulip fields and surrounded by local shops. You’ll find free parking, plenty of seating, and a warm, easy-to-find atmosphere. Whether you’re coming from Burlington, Anacortes, or stopping on your way to Seattle — getting here is simple.

And once you’re here? Our restaurant is fully accessible, family-friendly, and open to everyone who just wants a good meal, a good beer, and a good time.

When to walk in vs when to call

Most of the time, you can just walk in and find a spot — that’s how we like it. Our doors are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and we always try to make room for whoever comes through.

That said, if you’re bringing a larger group, celebrating an occasion, or planning a stop during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, it’s smart to call ahead. We’ll make sure your table’s ready, the beer’s cold, and your meal comes out without a wait.

Walk-ins or reservations, we’ll take care of you either way.

Come see why we're a local favorite
